Comstock Resources, Inc. Announces New General Counsel and Vice President of Land
FRISCO, Texas, July 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Comstock Resources, Inc. (NYSE: CRK) ("Comstock" or the "Company") today reported that effective July 15, 2006 that R. Gray Powers, Vice President of Land since 1997 and a Comstock employee since 1994 has resigned to pursue other interests.
Comstock also announced the hiring of D. Dale Gillette as the Company's new Vice President of Land who will also serve as General Counsel for Comstock. Mr. Gillette has practiced law extensively in the energy sector for 32 years, most recently as a partner in the Dallas office of Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP, and before that with the Dallas office of Locke Liddell & Sapp LLP. During that time he represented the Company, other independent exploration and production companies and large financial institutions in numerous oil and gas transactions. Mr. Gillette has also served as corporate counsel in the legal department of Amarillo based Mesa Petroleum Co. and in the legal department of Dallas based Enserch Corp.
